Pinterest Integration

Averiq Works Marketing OS connects to the operator's own Pinterest Business account using Pinterest's official API. This page explains what the integration does, what it does not do, and how access is controlled.

Intended API functionality

The integration is limited to the tasks needed to publish Averiq Works's own approved marketing Pins to the studio's own account, and to confirm that publishing worked.

  • Read the authenticated account's own boards, so the owner can select a destination
  • Read the authenticated account's own Pins when required to verify a publishing result
  • Create Pins that the account owner has reviewed and approved
  • Create a test board only when the owner explicitly requests it
  • Verify the account connection and the outcome of each publishing action
  • Disconnect the integration and stop using its access

Permissions

The integration is designed to request only the Pinterest permissions needed for the functions above, and uses only the permissions the account owner grants.

  • user_accounts:readConfirm which account is connected and its account type
  • boards:readList the account's own boards so a destination can be selected
  • boards:writeCreate a board (such as a test board) only when the owner requests it
  • pins:readRead the account's own Pins to verify publishing results
  • pins:writeCreate Pins that the owner has approved

Owner control

AI may help prepare marketing material, but the integration never acts on Pinterest without a deliberate action by the account owner.

Commitments

The integration does

  • Authenticate through Pinterest's official authorization flow
  • Limit access to the permissions granted by the authenticated account owner
  • Publish only when the owner initiates it
  • Publish only content the owner has reviewed and approved
  • Keep authorization credentials and tokens protected and out of public view

The integration does not

  • Request or store Pinterest passwords
  • Access unrelated users' private Pins, boards or account data
  • Publish autonomously or without owner authorization
  • Manage Pinterest advertising
  • Sell Pinterest data or use it to train AI models
  • Display credentials or tokens publicly

Disconnecting and revoking access

The owner can disconnect the Pinterest account from within Averiq Works Marketing OS. Access can also be revoked from the connected apps section of the Pinterest account's settings. Once access is disconnected or revoked, the associated authorization is no longer used.
